Upcoming Events in the City of Florence December 3, 2021

FLORENCE, SC –   This Friday is shaping up to be a busy day in the City of Florence and we don’t want you to miss it! The following events are planned for Friday, December 3, 2021 and the public is encouraged to attend:

10:00am        The City’s Arbor Day Celebration will be held at the new Fire Station #6 which is located on Smith Drive. The City of Florence Parks & Beautification Commission with assistance from the Azalea Garden Club will plant a tree to commemorate the day. Funding for the tree planting is provided by Duke Energy. The City of Florence has been recognized by the National Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree City USA for 41 consecutive years.

5:00pm          The 28th Annual City-County Christmas Tree Lighting will be held in the Andrew H. Griffin Plaza at 146 S. Dargan Street. Each year representatives from the City of Florence and Florence County kick off the holiday season with the lighting of the City’s Christmas tree. Join Mayor Ervin and County Council Chairman Willard Dorriety, Jr. as they share good tidings for the season.

5:30pm          The Holiday Music & Light Show will commence on South Dargan Street and will continue running from December 3 – 31, 2021 from 5:30pm – 10:00pm each evening. The sights and sounds of the season are sure to bring holiday cheer at this festive display.  Admission is FREE!

6:00pm          The 4th Annual Downtown Christmas Magic Event will take place in Downtown Florence. Get into the holiday spirit with some hot cocoa, roasted marshmallows, holiday music, a visit with Santa, and there is always snow in the forecast at Downtown Christmas Magic! Admission for this event is FREE thanks to the following sponsors: WBTW, Duke Energy, Willcox, Buyck, & Williams, Edward Jones, Mandy Simpson State Farm, Raines Co., and Florence Downtown Development Corporation.
